February Healthy Lifestyle Addresses Cyberbullying

The Healthy Lifestyle Workshop series, sponsored by McKenzie Health System, welcomes Laura Johnson, Sanilac County Community Mental Health (CMH) Administrative Supervisor, as the presenter at the February 2018, Healthy Lifestyle Workshop entitled “Social Media and Cyberbullying: A Community Concern.” The workshop will take place on Monday, February 26, at 5:30 p.m., in the Dining Room of McKenzie Health System, 120 Delaware Street, Sandusky. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required by calling Nina Barnett, McKenzie Health System, 810-648-6127 or emailing nbarnett@mckenziehealth.org.

“As we all know, the use of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, is widespread in today’s world,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System, and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson. “Unfortunately, all too often social media presents a perfect opportunity for cyberbullying, especially among young people, which can have devastating results.”

“We’re pleased to have Ms. Johnson as our guest speaker to talk about this serious problem,” Blasius continues. “She will be providing information regarding the harmful effects of cyberbullying and offering ways to keep both adults and children safe.”

For more information about the workshop, contact Louise Blasius at 810-648-6181; to reserve your spot, contact Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
