Since its inception in 1992, the East Central Michigan Healthcare Foundation has been working to improve the health of our region through various initiatives.

Consistent with the foundation's purpose, its board of trustees in committed to:

         Promoting better health within communities
Building strong partnerships with community leaders
Enhancing the well-being of the community

ECMHF also sponsors regional health reform to:

         Examine community health concerns
Provide health education to the community
Discuss and address concerns shared by health care leaders
Work on regional initiatives of mutual interest
         Develop public support and understanding

ECMHF seeks and encourages input on healthcare issues from the business community by partnering through coalitions to guide positive healthcare change. The Foundation also works to develop regional goals and action plans for addressing healthcare concerns. Funding for ECMHF projects comes strictly from grant awards.
