History
The Hospital Council of East Central Michigan is a member-driven organization that represents and advocates on behalf of its hospital members and health systems, and provides collaborative opportunities to improve the health of residents in our 14-county east central region.
HCECM was incorporated in 1980 as a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit association; however, its history dates back to the early 1950s when the East Central District Hospital Council was created. Throughout the decades, the organization has remained valuable and beneficial for members due to its responsiveness to new ideas and ability to adapt to meet the changing needs of our region.
HCECM's focus is on serving the unique needs of east central Michigan and its rural environment by providing a forum for issue discussion, identification and collective action.
