Community Impact: Employs approximately 546. During the first 11 months of 2013, HealthSource recorded a total of 83,502 patient days, 11,061 units of physical, occupational and speech therapy, and 5,781 physician and therapist visits in its outpatient counseling program.

Sketch: Healthsource Saginaw, Inc. is a nonprofit Municipal Health Facilities Organization that provides care for adults in need of inpatient and outpatient medical rehabilitation, including: physical, occupational and speech therapies; basic and skilled nursing home care; inpatient and outpatient behavioral management assistance for adults, children and adolescents; and recovery from chemical dependency. HealthSource got its start in 1929 when it served as a tuberculosis sanatorium under the name Saginaw County Hospital. A little over 40 years later, it became Saginaw Community Hospital and then renamed HealthSource Saginaw, Inc. in 1994.

Recent Accomplishments:

- Opened new child/adolescent psychiatric unit which added an additional 9 beds – now a 23 bed unit.

- A Certificate of Need is being filed for relocation of five (5) adult psychiatric beds and 10 additional child/adolescent beds.

- Implementation of Electronic Medical Record – Compliant with Meaningful Use I; working on Meaningful Use II.

- CMU Psychiatrist Intern/Residency program began June 1, 2014 with the facility’s first two residents.
