August Lunch and Learn Focuses on Drug Issues in Sanilac County
McKenzie Health System is
pleased to welcome Steve McKenney, Sanilac County Drug Task Force, as the
presenter at the August Lunch & Learn
program: “The Drugs of Abuse in Sanilac County.” The workshop is scheduled for
Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from Noon to 1 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System
Dining Room. Lunch & Learn is a community education series held every
third Wednesday of the month. The cost for the workshop is $5, and lunch is
included in the price. Pre-registration is required by calling Public Relations
at 810-648-6117 or emailing cmausolf@mckenziehealth.org.
“Illegal use of meth and
heroin, as well as abuse of other drugs, continues to be a problem across the
country and Sanilac County,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of
Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “In 2017, Officer McKenney provided
information to us regarding this important topic; this year, he will update us
regarding progress made on addressing drug abuse, and will educate audience members
on lifesaving measures that can be taken.”
“This adult only workshop
will be presented in a relaxed, personal atmosphere, where audience members
feel free to ask questions. As always, a tasty, healthy lunch will be
served," adds Blasius. “But, remember that because our dining room has limited seating, pre-registration is
required by calling Public Relations at 810-648-6117 or emailing cmausolf@mckenziehealth.org. We
encourage people to reserve their space as soon as possible, since this class
is sure to fill up fast! We hope to see you there!”
