Covenant HealthCare Hosted the First Large-Scale COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Covenant HealthCare has worked very closely with local health departments to support caring for, testing, and now vaccinating people in the community. As of the end of this week, Covenant has distributed nearly 10,000 doses (first and second) of the COVID-19 vaccine without wasting a single shot.

Thursday, January 21, Covenant hosted the first large-scale COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic. We were able to schedule more than 1,930 individuals in the 1B category. Those who were contacted to receive the vaccine were a mix of individuals who had registered with the Saginaw County Health Department (SCHD) and Covenant patients over the age of 65.

At this time, if people wish to be vaccinated, we are asking them to register with their local health department on their website in order to keep our phone lines open to assist patients and their medical needs. (Saginaw County does offer a phone line for those who may need it).

Over the course of the next several months, we will continue to work with our local health departments and other community partners to have an organized approach, ensuring everyone can be vaccinated as quickly as possible.

To clarify, there is NOT a number for the general public to call at Covenant to set up an appointment to get the vaccine. From this point forward we will reach out to people as we have availability. COVID-19 teams are working diligently, setting up a call line for patients who have questions about an existing vaccine appointment, second dose, insurance, etc.

We will publish more information early next week as plans are finalized, and truly appreciate everyone’s patience.
