DEA Drug Take-back Drive to be held in Bay City
A DEA Drug Take-back Drive will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Bay County Law Enforcement Center, located at 503 3rd Street in Bay City. The event will be held in collaboration between the Bay County Prevention Network, the Bay City Department of Public Safety, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and McLaren Bay Region.
“Medication that is expired or no longer needed should be disposed of quickly and properly,” said Bay County Prevention Network Coalition Coordinator Barry Schmidt. “Keeping unneeded medications in the home can increase the risk of accidental or intentional abuse.”
The best way to dispose of drugs is through an official take-back event, as disposal in the trash or flushing them down the toilet can lead to other problems.
A safe disposal bin will be available in the lobby of the Bay County Law Enforcement Center. Needles, syringes, inhalers, lancets and liquids will not be accepted.
