Give Blood and Save Lives

The COVID-19 outbreak has caused a disruption to many events and public gatherings, creating a shortage of blood products that are only made possible thanks to volunteer donors.

With just one donation of blood you could save a life, potentially up to three lives. There are four types of transfusable products that can be derived from blood: red cells, platelets, plasma, and cryoprecipitate. Typically, two or three of these are produced from one pint of donated blood—hence why each donation can help save up to three lives.

If you are a healthy adult and are willing to help patients that need blood transfusions, schedule an appointment to give blood at the American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, June 18 from 12 Noon – 5:45 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish Hall in Marlette.

By appointment only; no walk-ins will be accepted. The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control. Donors can expect to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival, donors will be asked to wear a mask (provided), and will be asked to wait in their personal vehicle until it’s time to donate.

Please call 800-733-2767 to schedule an appointment. This blood drive is sponsored by the Marlette Hospital Auxiliary.
