Hills & Dales General Hospital Receives ACR Mammography Accreditation

Cass City, MI – September 24, 2020 - Hills & Dales General Hospital is pleased to announce they have been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This makes Hills & Dales the only hospital in the Thumb to be accredited by the ACR in mammography, CT, nuclear medicine as well as low dose lung cancer screenings.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which then provides the facility with a comprehensive report that can be used for continuous practice improvement.

This year had extra challenges because of COVID-19. We were also in the middle of transitioning our mammography machine to our new 3D machine during the inspection so that created some extra steps in the process as well. So, this accreditation is special to our staff. This accreditation shows our continued dedication to providing the best patient care possible.”
