MBR Don't Delay Care: A Message to Our Community
We are looking toward the future of 2021 with a renewed sense of resilience and hope as we bring the final fight to COVID. Vaccines have already been administered to most of our health care heroes, and now efforts are turning toward other frontline workers, and those age 65 and older. We look forward to the day we can return to doing so many of the normal things that have been placed on hold due to the pandemic.
What shouldn't be placed on hold is your health. A recent report from the CDC shows that an estimated 41% of Americans say they’ve delayed or avoided seeking routine or emergency care due to concerns over COVID-19. Because of this, physicians across the country are seeing patients facing chronic diseases that have worsened, cancer that has spread further, and illnesses that have compounded because of delays in care.
If you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness or numbness, or slurred speech, changes in mental status, concussion or confusion, a head or eye injury, broken bones, seizures, or any other health issue you feel is an emergency, you need to go to an emergency room or call 911.
