MRH Foundation Observes Tree of Shining Love 30th Anniversary
The Marlette
Regional Hospital (MRH) Foundation will be observing the 30th
anniversary of the Tree of Shining Love event this holiday season. The MRH
Foundation’s Tree of Shining Love event provides a unique, annual opportunity
for the public to honor the special people in their lives while supporting
local health care services.
“Thirty years
ago hospital staff and supporters identified that we had many unsung heroes
that have made significant contributions to Marlette and our hospital, both
living and deceased, so they established the Tree of Shining Love event to
recognize these people. Thirty years later, that same intent applies, but over
the years it has expanded for all Thumb Region residents to recognize the
special people in their lives,” shares Sara Redman, MRH Foundation Manager.
Proceeds from
the 30th anniversary event will help fund a first impressions
exterior upgrade project at Marlette Regional Hospital and its four rural
health clinics in Brown City, Kingston, Mayville, and North Branch. Speaking of
rural health, in addition to those honored by the general public, this year’s
Tree of Shining Love event and ceremony will pay special tribute to our Rural
Health Community—People, Places, Services. This special group is dedicated to
providing jobs, contributing to the infrastructure and success of the
communities they are a part of, and most importantly, delivering the care you
need, when you need it, close to home.
The public is
invited to honor or memorialize the special people in their lives. Those
honored and memorialized will be recognized in a special presentation at the
Tree of Shining Love Ceremony on Sunday, December 2nd and in local forms of
media during the holiday season.
