Walk 15 Class, Mondays and Wednesdays at MRH East Campus in Marlette
This 35-minute Walk 15 Class is for all ages every Monday and Wednesday from 5 – 5:35 p.m. Walk 15 focuses on variations of walking steps with additional upper and lower body movements. It is open to the public at the low cost of only $1 per class session. It is for all regardless of fitness level. Please wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. The BeFit Class is offered free of charge every Tuesday from 5 – 6 p.m. BeFit focuses on the whole person and builds relationships that lead to healthy results. Bereavement Support Groups, Marlette
For widows, widowers, or singles that have lost a loved one through death, a support group is available in Marlette. Facilitated by United Hospice Service, this informal social support outing provides an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy good conversation in a supported setting. Chamber of Commerce Meeting, March 6, 12 p.m. at Liang’s Garden
Area businesses are invited to join the Marlette Area Chamber of Commerce in 2019 for monthly meetings, education, and social events. Safe@Home Course, March 6, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Marlette Regional Hospital
Safe@Home teaches students in grades 4th through 6th how to be safe when they are home alone. The course will
teach students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students will also be introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and will learn to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Class fees are $10/child and space is limited to 16 students. The “Get on Track” committee is seeking community donations in the form of cash or items for their raffles and auctions to raise funding for Marlette Community Schools’ track facilities and maintenance. Families Against Narcotics (FAN) Presentation, March 12, 6:30 p.m. at the MRH Seton Center
This topic of this month’s meeting is Human Trafficking: Signs to Watch for & More! Arrive at 5:45 p.m. if you would like to receive free Narcan training and a kit. Sanilac County FAN meets at Marlette Regional Hospital the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in an effort to save lives by empowering individuals and communities to prevent and eradicate drug addiction. Irish for the Day 5K & 1 Mile Walk/Run, March 16, 8 a.m. at Eddie G’s
Come and be Irish for the day by participating in the first of its kind 5K in Marlette. There is a 5K run and a 1-mile walk, both starting and ending at Eddie G’s Restaurant in Marlette. There will be medals for the top male and female in each age division. Registration is $25 and tee shirts are guaranteed for people who sign up by March 5. This educational event is designed to assist area coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, and athletic directors in training and sustaining healthy athletes. The staff of United Hospice Service of MRH invites you to attend an upcoming craft night. Proceeds benefit the hospice program and the patients they have the privilege to serve. “Little Shavers” Self Defense Class, March 30, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., MRH East Campus
The SAVE Council is excited to offer a "Little Shaver" Self Defense Class. This training is for children ages 6 to 10 years old and participants must be accompanied by a parent.
