McLaren Bay Region CEO Accepts New Position in South Carolina

BAY CITY, MICH – McLaren Bay Region President & CEO, Clarence Sevillian, has accepted the role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office at Prisma Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in South Carolina.

Sevillian began his health care journey at McLaren in 1998 as a Physical Therapist. Through his 22 1/2 year career, he has held positions with increasing leadership responsibilities at McLaren facilities in Flint, Lapeer, Oakland, and Bay City. He joined McLaren Bay Region as President & CEO in December of 2014.

"Clarence has been a wonderful leader at McLaren. His ability to communicate and interact with staff and physicians created a "team" environment welcomed by all," stated Gary Bosco, Chair of the McLaren Bay Region board of Directors. "His dedication to patient-centered care and high quality outcomes has always been a key focus. He will be greatly missed by our board and staff".

During his time at McLaren Bay Region, Sevillian was involved in increasing access and service offerings to patients with new medical office buildings in Uptown Bay City, Midland, and West Branch. He guided updates to the main campus patient tower, increased behavioral health service offerings with the addition of the geriatric-psychiatry unit and partial hospitalization program, navigated the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as led implementation of a new electronic health record (EHR) platform.

Sevillian's last day at McLaren Bay Region will be August 7, 2021. The senior leaders of McLaren will be working with the board of directors to identify a replacement.
