Musser Named New Nurse Manager for West Branch Maternity Unit
Jeanette Musser, R.N.C.-O.B., B.S.N., has been named the new nurse manager for the new Maternity Unit at MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch.
Musser has been with MidMichigan Health for more than 17 years working in Midland’s Maternity and Pediatrics Units. She has served as an obstetric educator the last two years. Musser received her nursing degree from Saginaw Valley State University and is a certified inpatient obstetrics registered nurse.
“I have had a passion for obstetric and neonatal nursing from the beginning of my nursing career and have been lucky to learn and grow within this specialty,” said Musser. “I am excited to be a part of bringing maternity services back to the West Branch area communities.”
To prepare for the unit opening in West Branch, Musser has been busy hiring staff and getting the team trained. The West Branch Maternity Unit staff includes the following registered nurses: April Barber, R.N., Danielle Champ, R.N., Jenifer Comstock, R.N., Nichole Deshano, R.N., Stephanie Dillon, R.N., Lindsey Hannah, R.N., Amanda Hart, R.N., Nichole Huck, R.N., Sharlaina Kann, R.N., Stephanie Miller, R.N., Taylor Schmidt R.N., and Leah Snyder, R.N.
The new unit has three triage rooms plus four private birthing suites where moms can stay in one location throughout their hospital stay, from labor and delivery through recovery and postpartum care. Rooms are designed with the family in mind, offering more space and comfortable accommodations for the baby and support partner to stay with mom. Larger rooms also improve access for clinical staff to provide bedside education and care for the mother and baby.
“We have a great team ready to greet new patient and provide the high quality, patient and family centered care that the community has come to expect of MidMichigan Health, ”concluded Musser.
