Nighttime Volunteers Needed to “Cuddle” in the Covenant Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Covenant HealthCare is looking for volunteers interested in serving as baby “cuddlers” for 4 hour shifts between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Cuddlers assist with comfort, rocking and soothing of babies in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU).
Interested individuals will undergo background checks, an interview and an extensive training process. Cuddlers must be able to provide a minimum of 4 hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with a minimum 1 year commitment.
Volunteer “Cuddlers” assist staff in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The overnight shifts are currently the only times available to volunteer.

About the Covenant Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
For more than 40 years, families have relied on Covenant HealthCare to provide the highest level of newborn care in the area. Covenant HealthCare has the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit north of Flint. The 55 bed unit is equipped with the most advanced technology, and board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide 24-hour, in-house coverage. Specially trained nurses, respiratory therapists and an excellent support team of occupational therapists, dietitians, lactation consultants, social workers, case workers and pastoral care are all care for the region’s tiniest patients.
