Patricia Chantiny Named Hospice Volunteer of the Year
United
Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that
Patricia Chantiny of Caro was recently honored as volunteer of the year during
their annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.
Pat has been
a volunteer for United Hospice Service since 2005. Throughout her tenure of
service as a volunteer, Pat has generously supported patients in their end of
life journey by baking cookies one day per week at the Hospice Residence in
Marlette. If you’ve ever visited the Hospice Residence and had a homemade
cookie, chances are it was made with love by Pat. It’s something she feels she
can do to help families feel welcome and at home during their time there. Pat
goes the extra mile to make patients and families feel welcome while they are
at the Hospice Residence. The residence is meant to feel like “home” for
patients that cannot stay in their own home, and Pat helps achieve that feeling
by greeting families with a kind smile and warm hello. Pat also bakes for
special hospice events as well as for the annual Christmas cookie tray assembly
in which homemade Christmas treats are delivered to patients and their families
for the holidays.
It was Pat’s
culinary skills and warm nature that led her to receiving this special honor.
Please join us congratulating our volunteer of the year, Patricia Chantiny.
United
Hospice Service volunteers who have received this honor in the past include:
Thelma McKee, Norretta Darling, Val Benson, Paula Marshall, Joyce Frye, Diana
Hutchinson, and Mike Hollenbeck, Pat Boegner, Geri Templin, and Angie Krauth.
