Vaccine Expanded Availability Through the SAVE LIVES Act

The Aleda E. Lutz VAMC is standing by to implement the expansion of COVID-19 vaccinations to all Veterans, caregivers, spouses and CHAMPVA beneficiaries under the SAVE LIVES Act.

We still have a limited amount of vaccines. We’re working to determine how quickly we can begin to offer vaccines to these other groups.

At this time, our facility is vaccinating front-line VA health care workers and all eligible Veterans 18 years and older, in accordance with CDC guidance. In accordance with the new law, we must continue to prioritize vaccinations and healthcare delivery for Veterans already enrolled in VA care.

In the meantime, Veterans, caregivers, spouses, and CHAMPVA beneficiaries newly eligible under the law can go to to indicate their interest in receiving a vaccine from VA. Signing up will also give users regular updates about VA’s vaccine rollout process.

For your continued health and safety during the pandemic, please refrain from visiting the medical center for a COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment.

Those eligible will be contacted by text message, email, or phone about vaccination events, scheduling, and other opportunities when information is available.

You can also sign up to get vaccinated through your employer, pharmacy or local public health office. We encourage you to take the first opportunity you have to get a COVID-19 vaccine at the most convenient location for you.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we prepare to offer more vaccines.
